Program Overview

Overview

Program length: 12-month program.

Delivery mode: Hybrid modified distance learning face to face; 3 days per semester minimum for simulation lab.

Required prerequisite coursework:

  • Advanced (Lifespan) Physical Health Assessment.
  • Advanced Pharmacology.
  • Advanced Pathophysiology.

Course pre-requisites: Must hold a master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Notes: Students are required to be admitted to the Post Graduate Psychiatric APRN certificate.

Course major restrictions:

  • Course may only be taken to complete the Post Graduate Psychiatric APRN certificate.
  • Total Practicum Hours: 540 hours of direct patient contact sublimated by simulation (no more than 25% as regulated by the Board of Registered Nursing).

Total Units: 24 (subject to change).
